Press the power button to turn on the thermometer. You should hear a beep and the screen will display. The display is tested for approximately 2 seconds. Then the last measured temperature is displayed in the right corner with the letter "M". 3. 36.5 ̊C (or 97.7 ̊F) is then displayed. When Lo and a flashing ̊C (̊F) are displayed, the thermometer is ready to measure temperature. However, if the ambient temperature is above 32.0 ̊C (90.0 ̊F), the ambient temperature is displayed instead of Lo. When the temperature measurement is complete, you will hear a beep. Press the power button to turn off the thermometer. (The thermometer automatically turns off after 10 minutes of non-use.)
Place the temperature probe under the tab, as close as possible to one of the heat pockets. Estimated measurement time: 10-20 seconds.
Dry the armpit with a towel and place the thermometer perpendicular to the body under the arm. Make sure the temperature probe touches the skin. Hold your arm against your chest so that the temperature probe is completely covered. Estimated measurement time: 20-30 seconds Note: Axillary temperature readings are typically 0.5 ̊C / 1.0 ̊F lower than oral temperature readings.
Apply a water soluble lubricant to the probe cover. Gently insert the temperature probe (MAXIMUM 1/2 cm) into the rectum. Estimated measurement time: 10 seconds
